Ardnamurchan Cask Strength 700ml

The cask strength packs a punch, but it's surprisingly smooth on the palate with a long, warming finish. I'm really impressed with the depth of flavor for a non-chill filtered whisky at this proof point.

The nose is intense and peaty right out of the glass, and at full cask strength it drinks surprisingly smooth with just a drop of water. I've been nursing this bottle for weeks and the flavor keeps shifting, which is exactly what I want in a single malt.

The cask strength really comes through here—it's got that bold, oily mouthfeel you want from a single malt, and the 700ml bottle lasted me a solid month of weekend pours. It drinks warmer than I expected, so a few drops of water opened up the finish nicely.
