2016 Louis Roederer Brut Rose

Opened this for a birthday toast and that 2016 vintage really delivers — the mousse is silky without being aggressive. Light, crisp strawberry notes carry through to a surprisingly dry, elegant finish.

The cork came out with a clean pop and the 750 mL bottle held enough for four generous glasses. That first sip had a crisp, dry finish that made it disappear faster than I planned.

The 750 mL bottle poured a gorgeous pale salmon with fine, persistent bubbles that lasted through the whole evening. It’s got that crisp, dry finish you want from a Brut Rosé, and it paired beautifully with oysters without overpowering them.
