Cracked open a bottle last night and the black pepper and violet notes were exactly what I was hoping for from a Northern Rhone Syrah. It's got enough dark fruit to be satisfying but stays elegant rather than jammy, and the finish lingers nicely.

The velvet tannins make this feel smoother than most powerful Syrahs, and that anise note lingers nicely after each sip. Perfect for a slow evening with a hearty stew.
