I was surprised how much body this Petit Verdot has — the tannins give it a serious structure that holds up to grilled meats perfectly. The violet and lilac notes are subtle but add a nice floral lift.

The lavender and sage really do come through on the nose, but the violet follows right behind—it's a wild combination. Solid tannins give it enough grip that I'd happily cellar a bottle for a few years, though it's drinking beautifully now with a lamb roast.

I wasn’t expecting a Petite Verdot to feel this structured, but the tannins give it serious backbone while the violet and sage keep it interesting. Opened it with lamb chops and the herbal edge cut through perfectly. Glad I took a chance on this one.
