The Turlo vineyards are located on the hills of Umbria's Lake Corbara northern bank at 150 to 380 meters in elevation.  The soil is rich in red clay, tufa (a limestone common to central Italy) and small pebbles.  A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this full-bodied wine is the Umbrian answer to the Super Tuscan.

Hazel Z. ★★★★★

The elevation range of 150 to 380 meters gives this wine a really nice balance of ripe fruit and acidity. I opened a bottle with dinner last night and the layers kept unfolding with each sip for a solid hour.

Matthew ★★★★★

That red clay and limestone soil really comes through in the wine’s mineral backbone, and the depth from grapes grown at that elevation is impressive. I opened a bottle last weekend and it was beautifully balanced, perfect for a slow dinner.

Carter ★★★★★

The elevation change from 150 to 380 meters gives this wine a surprising minerality and structure. I served it with roasted chicken and the acidity cut through perfectly without overpowering the dish.
