Luxardo Amaretto Saschira 750ml

The almond flavor is much more pronounced than the typical overly sweet stuff, and that vanilla hint really comes through on the finish. It’s my new go-to for pouring over vanilla ice cream on a weeknight.

I was expecting the usual syrupy sweetness from an amaretto, but this one is noticeably drier and the vanilla comes through just enough to balance the almond. It’s made from stone fruit pits, which I can actually taste in that subtle depth. Sipped it neat and it’s dangerously smooth.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much drier it is compared to other amarettos—the hint of vanilla balances it nicely without being cloying. The only small downside is that the almond note fades a bit too quickly in cocktails for my taste.
