I was skeptical about the vegetal funk at first, but after a few sips I totally get why this was the go-to for 18th-century punch. The smoky fruitiness carries through beautifully with just a dash of lime and sugar, and it's dangerously easy to drink.

That smoky fruitiness really comes through, and the vegetal funk gives it an edge I haven't found in any other rum I've tried. Mixed it into a punch for a party and everyone kept asking what the secret was.

The molasses-like richness along with that unmistakable vegetal funk makes for a surprisingly versatile cocktail base. I’ve been mixing it into everything from daiquiris to punches, and it never disappoints. Definitely one of the more unique rums I’ve tried lately.
