This Barbera’s earthy notes paired perfectly with a mushroom risotto last night — the dark fruit came through without overwhelming the dish. It’s full-bodied enough to stand up to hearty food but still smooth on the finish. Definitely a repeat buy for Sunday dinners.

First opened it with a simple pasta dinner and that earthy, dark-fruit character really came through. The full body and robust finish made it feel like a much more expensive bottle than it is.

I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth this Barbera drinks despite being full-bodied; the dark fruit really comes through without being jammy. It’s got that classic earthy Piedmont depth but finishes clean enough to sip on its own.
