Mad River PX Cask Rum 750ml

That PX sherry cask finish adds a really nice nutty layer that I wasn't expecting from a demerara rum. It's fantastic neat, with just a hint of smoke that lingers perfectly.

The toasted and charred barrel aging gives it a deep, smoky backbone, and the PX sherry cask finish rounds it out with this lovely nutty sweetness that lingers. I poured it neat after dinner and the complexity really unfolded as it sat in the glass.

The Pedro Ximenez finish really comes through—that nutty, smoky edge makes it feel way more complex than the price suggests. I poured a glass neat and the aroma alone convinced me to order a backup bottle.
