I was pleasantly surprised by how the sherry cask finish brings out a fruity sweetness that balances the smoke perfectly. It’s smooth enough to sip neat, and the dryness makes it a great companion for a quiet evening.

The peat smoke is there but it’s gentle, letting the fruit from the sherry casks come through nicely. I usually go for bourbon finishes, but the marriage here is surprisingly smooth for a dry Irish whiskey.

That sherry-cask influence really shows—the fruitiness comes through upfront, then the smoke creeps in on the tail without ever getting harsh. I’ve been sipping it neat after dinner and the dry finish keeps me coming back for another pour.
