The long 12 years in oak have really mellowed this out — it's smooth and sippable even neat, with none of that harsh bite some young malts have.

The honeyed sweetness really comes through on the nose and lingers nicely on the finish, and the oak aging has rounded off any sharp edges completely. Poured a glass for a friend who’s usually into bourbon, and even he was impressed by how mellow it went down.
